The Milwaukee M18 FUEL 2836 cuts like a reciprocating saw. It’s a rare next-level tool that stands above the competition. In this video we run it against the DeWalt DCS356.

Next we compare the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 2836 to the Makita 18V LXT StarlockMax XMT04.

Below we look back at the previous Milwuakee non-FUEL 2626 and see that it runs fairly even with the DeWalt DCS355, which runs even with the DCS356 only the 356 has a 3 speed selector switch.

Bottom Line

Of all the multi-tools seen above only the M18 FUEL cuts like a reciprocating saw. It’s the only one that allows me to not carry a recip saw most days. The DeWalt is way too slow in comparison and the Makita doesn’t have anywhere near the same power under load, which means it too slows me down.

Yes, swinging the blade makes them last longer and yes you can cut slower without stalling. And if you aren’t afraid of using battery adapters the world is once again your oyster. I wish you all the best and hope these tools work as hard for you as they have for me. See ya.
