The DeWalt DXPW61337 3300 PSI, 2.4 GPM pressure washer is a lightweight, medium-duty, upright, easily transportable pressure washer with enough power for professional applications. I’ve owned this model for a couple of years now, and it’s held up great.
Actually, the first one was stolen after a year from my truck in a smash and grab, and I replaced it the next day.
Specifications
As a painting contractor, X painting contractor, I’d recommend at least 3K PSI for stripping siding and decks for painting. You can easily destroy wood and concrete with this much pressure and not realize it until it’s too late so be careful.
- Pressure and Flow: This model delivers 3300 PSI with a flow rate of 2.4 GPM, making it suitable for concrete cleaning, house painting, heavy equipment washing, etc.
- Engine: It’s equipped with a Honda GCV200 engine, which, while not commercial grade, is known for its reliability. The auto-choke feature and OHV design help with starting and running the machine smoothly.
- Pump: The unit uses an axial cam pump, which includes thermal relief to help prevent the pump from overheating. That said, you should trigger the gun within every two minutes to avoid damaging to the pump from overheating.
- Included Accessories: You get a 50-foot 1/4″ pressure hose, a gun, and a quick-connect wand with the washer. Additionally, you receive four nozzles (0°, 15°, 40°, and soap) for various cleaning tasks, and there’s a built-in soap tank for detergent use.
- Weight and Mobility: The pressure washer weighs 58 lbs. The upright steel frame on 12-inch wheels.
- Fuel: It has a 0.24-gallon fuel tank, which requires more frequent refills for extended use.
My Experience
I like this washer because it’s easy to lift into and transport in the cab of my truck. It takes up less floor space than a horizontal washer and is easier to roll up and down stairs.
I find it runs for about 25 minutes per tank, so I keep a 2.5 gallon gas tank at the ready. I haven’t used the soap dispenser. I actually removed it because it’s easier to lift the washer without it.
The included DeWalt gun has a front-of-trigger hose connection, so I replaced it with a rear-connection gun, which I prefer. I also replaced the included 1/4″ x 50′ hose with a 3/8″ x 50′ hose, and installed quick connects to the inlet and outlet hose ports.
I wasn’t sure about the hose in/out ports being located underneath, as I’m used to horizontal pressure washers with the ports topside, but it’s been no problem.
DeWalt also offers a 3100 PSI and a 3400 PSI version of this upright-style washer. Why manufacturers offer so many versions of these washers with specs so close to each other, I don’t know exaclty, but they all seem to do it.
Bottom Line
The DeWalt DXPW61337 offers significant cleaning power if you’re in need of a robust pressure washer that is not going to be used everyday. This is a residential grade machine that should hold up to weekly or monthly use and with the few upgrades, mentioned above, it has been a pleasure to use.
