I use this Task Support Rod to install cabinets but it’s good for whatever else needs a third hand. This is their medium, which extends from 5′-3” to 10′.
This one is showing a 13.5″ soft pad top extension, which you have to buy separately. The height adjustment is click notch with fine tune spinner bolts top and bottom. This support rod is smooth and easy to use.
